Area rug cleaning

Area Rug Cleaning in Los Angeles & Orange County

Area rugs are not wall-to-wall carpet. Backing, dyes, fringe and foundation all react differently to water and chemistry, so we test before we clean.

Depending on the rug we either clean it in place with controlled moisture, or pick it up for a more thorough wash and controlled drying.

What's included

  • Fiber and dye-bleed testing
  • Dry soil removal
  • Fiber-appropriate cleaning solution and agitation
  • Rinse and extraction with controlled moisture
  • Fringe cleaning where the fringe is sound
  • Controlled drying and grooming

Our process and equipment

  1. 1

    Test

We check fiber, dye stability and backing before any water touches the rug.

  2. 2

    Dust

Dry soil comes out first — wet soil turns into mud inside the foundation.

  3. 3

    Clean

A wool-safe or synthetic-appropriate solution with gentle agitation.

  4. 4

    Rinse

Controlled rinse and extraction so the foundation is not oversaturated.

  5. 5

    Dry

Airflow-assisted drying, then grooming and a final inspection.

Materials and surfaces we treat

  • Wool and wool blends
  • Cotton flatweave and dhurrie
  • Synthetic machine-made rugs
  • Jute and sisal (dry or low-moisture methods only)
  • Shag and high-pile rugs

Honest limitations

  • Dye bleed risk on some hand-made and unstable-dye rugs — if testing shows risk, we tell you and adjust or decline.
  • Damaged, dry-rotted or shedding foundations can worsen with any cleaning method.
  • Repairs, re-fringing and re-binding are not services we perform.

How to prepare

  • Clear furniture from the rug where possible
  • Point out pet accidents, prior spot treatments and any known repairs
  • Let us know if the rug is antique or hand-knotted so we plan the right method

Pricing

Pricing depends on the size of the area, fiber or material type, soil level, stain treatment and access. Call or text (866) 631-2244 for an exact quote before any work starts — you approve the price first.

Two Ways We Can Clean Your Area Rug: Facility Washing or In-Home

Some rugs clean best off-site at our facility; others can be cleaned professionally right in your home. Here is what each option looks like on a real Go4Cleaning job, so you know what you are choosing before we arrive.

Pickup, Facility Rug Washing & Return Delivery

For rugs that benefit from off-site washing, we collect the rug, assess the material, clean it with a method suited to that fiber and construction, dry it under control, and deliver it back to you.

  • Pickup: we collect the rug from your home at a scheduled time
  • Assessment: we check fiber, backing, dyes and condition before choosing a method
  • Facility cleaning: washed and treated with the method suited to that rug
  • Drying: dried under controlled conditions before it leaves our facility
  • Return delivery: we bring the clean rug back and place it where you want it

In-Home Area Rug Cleaning

Many area rugs can be cleaned professionally right where they are, in your home, with no pickup and no waiting for the rug to come back.

  • Cleaned in place — the rug never leaves your home
  • We assess the rug and flooring underneath, protect the work area, and choose an appropriate in-home method
  • May include material-appropriate pretreatment, cleaning, and stain or odor treatment when suitable and included in the quote
  • A good fit for rugs in regular use that need refreshing on the spot

We assess the rug and explain the proposed cleaning method before service.

Pickup and return delivery are scheduled with you and quoted as part of the job. We are a service-area business with no public storefront or drop-off counter, and we do not remove or reinstall wall-to-wall carpet as part of this service.

FAQ

Area rug cleaning questions

Do you clean rugs in the home or take them away?

Both. Durable synthetics are usually fine in place. Delicate, heavily soiled or pet-affected rugs are better handled off-site.

Can you remove pet urine from a rug?

Often yes with a dedicated urine treatment and a thorough rinse, but severe or repeated saturation can leave permanent dye and odor damage.

Is your cleaning wool-safe?

Yes — for wool we use wool-appropriate pH and controlled moisture rather than aggressive alkaline chemistry.
